Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Are your lips ready for their close up? Here I’ve compiled a list of the lip balms that will keep your lips smooch-worthy (and perhaps even tasty!) from now right through to Valentine’s Day and all year long.

Low on bells and whistles but high on quality, this lip balm will never fail. If you are looking for a lip balm that will keep your lips moist during the coldest of winters, give this one a shot. This lip balm also features an SPF 4 to keep your lips protected while you sip your mojito in the summer! Kiehl’s is famous for this lip balm and it’s easy to see why you’ll find this little tube (also available in generously sized pots) in so many celebrity pockets. Available at Kiehl’s #100 – 1025 Robson Street, Vancouver.

These blue tins pop up in every corner of my apartment, in every purse, and every coat pocket because I love it so much. It gives your lips a soft shine and never feels sticky. This is a hard working product which also excels at softening cuticles, moisturizing dry skin on the elbows and knees, soothing burns and diaper rash! Available at Sephora 701 West Georgia Street, Vancouver.
Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Dark Chocolate and Peppermint Lip Butter

A few months ago I was doing my midweek “I’m-only-here-for-Advil-but-I-think-I’ll-need-a-shopping-basket” visit to London Drugs when I came across this yummy lip balm. The simple fact that it was a Palmer’s product caught my eye because I’m a huge fan of their line. Then when I saw “Dark Chocolate and Peppermint” I knew I had to give it a try. It does a great job of moisturizing the lips but don’t be fooled…the real pleasure here lies in the scent and flavour!
Philosophy Kiss Me Very Emollient SPF 20 Lip Balm in Red

The first tinted lip balm on the list, this one looks like a deep cherry in the tube but once applied just enhances the natural tone of your lips and adds a slight shine. The light, non-sticky texture and slight flush of colour makes this a wonderful option to keep on hand at work or in your gym bag. Available at Sephora.
Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Minty Lip Shine

My favourite of the list! Fans of MAC Lipglass will love the high shine and crystal clear finish. It is slightly tackier than the others on the list but that’s such a small price to pay for the only mint flavoured lip balm or gloss I’ve ever encountered that tingles without stinging and is minty enough to live up to the claim of freshening your breath. Pssst…an up close and personal firsthand review I received when wearing it over the holidays was a rather giddy, “You taste like a candy cane!” Available in Canada at La Senza.
What are your favourite lip balms? Post them in the Comments below!

M.
