Don’t you love those days when you make an unexpected but insanely fantastic discovery?!
Earlier today I went online and logged onto makeup master Sam Fine‘s website. I squealed like the New Kids on the Block walked in the room when I saw the words I’ve been waiting forever to see on the new landing page that greeted me: “May 2009 FINE The Basics of Beauty DVD”.
Naturally, I decided to do a little sleuthing around to see what I could find out. I learned that this is going to be an instructional DVD in which he shares his techniques and advice over the course of three makeover demonstrations. I have yet to discover an exact release date but you can sign up for e-mail updates from Sam Fine’s website.
Sam Fine is highly regarded for giving good face (and his signature arched eyebrows) to gorgeous celebrities like Iman, Jennifer Hudson, RuPaul, Queen Latifah and Tyra Banks. His 1998 book FINE Beauty: Beauty Basics and Beyond for African-American Women is the definitive beauty guide for people of colour. He has yet to bring his live instructional seminars to Vancouver so I’m looking forward to having an opportunity to see his technique in action…and having the luxury of rewind, slow-motion, and pause!

Oh yes! I was also excited to know Sam Fine’s DVD would be out later this month. I’ve been to several of his presentations and he’s truly the best when it comes to teaching women of color how to create a flawless finish. I was lucky enough to preview the DVD and I learned so much. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one!!
